The Musée Mémoire & Paix in Hochfelden is strongly committed to the duty of remembrance. Through permanent and temporary exhibitions, conferences, publications and mediation activities, it contributes to bringing history to life and passing on the values of peace to as many people as possible.
The museum pays tribute to those who died for France, from the Franco-Prussian War of 1870 to contemporary conflicts. Visitors will discover a rich collection of uniforms, weapons, vehicles and military artefacts, all of which bear witness to the history and human journeys that shaped it.
In addition to preserving its heritage, the museum also works to raise awareness among the younger generation, reminding them of the fragility of peace and the sacrifices needed to preserve it. In conjunction with the French Ministry of Education, it also helps teachers, pupils and students to discover history through authentic objects and their stories.
A place of remembrance and transmission, the museum also aims to be a reference point for historians, while welcoming veterans and active servicemen, who play a key role in our country's defense and history.
