Adeline Tourscher mainly paints portraits of women. Using gouache, pastels, posca and stencils, she superimposes many elements. This play of superimpositions means that the canvases are not always legible at first glance. Recurring motifs (heart, crown, alphabet, etc.) can be found on the various canvases, symbolic enough for anyone to search out and try to decipher. These portraits, with their references to Alsatian culture, pay homage to the woman who goes through life, with its moments of doubt and fragility, but who despite everything remains on her feet... very often with one eye open, one eye hidden... In these canvases, there's no room for pastel tones... or light lines, but room for bright colors and intense, vivid strokes. Portraits as colorful as life can be.
